Ben’s First Day at the Shooting Range

Ben's First Time Clay Shooting

Ben and Jimmy went up to the shooting range in Monaghan to shoot some clays. It was Ben’s first time shooting and it turned out he is quite good at it. In the end he shot 50 rounds from a .410 shotgun, taking downing 20+ clays.
Now he wants to know if he can go every week. Well done Ben!!

A Day Out In Donegal

Photo Gallery

Man what a day we had today, weather was good so we all headed up to Mullaghmore beach just outside Bundoran, picnic and a very long walk on the beach. Then up to the amusement park for another couple of hours.
On the way home we stopped off at The Salmon Inn for dinner.

Ulster Museum & Age of the Dinosaur Exhibition

What a fabulous place to visit, we spent over 3 hours walking around the Ulster Museum. They have displays on pretty much everything you can imagine, wildlife, under water creatures, ice age, stone age, bronze age.
The “Age of the Dinosaur” exhibition was also running while we were there, 6 huge animatronic dinosaurs, so realistic. Unfortunately there was no photograph allowed in that area, Ben was amazed with the exhibition, so life-like. If you ‘re ever in Belfast I’d highly recommend you visit the Ulster Museum.

Ben’s Canoeing Trip

Ben went off canoeing today with his scout group to train for his level 1 paddling badge. As part of the training he also received his Paddle Power Start certificate.
He enjoyed it so much he wants to join the local canoeing club.
Scouting Ireland – Paddling Level 1 & Paddle Power Start in the one day, well done Ben!

Camping at Battlebridge

We all decided we would have a weekend away camping to get a feel for it before we go away with the scout group, so we packed up the car and headed to Battlebridge in County Leitrim.
If you’re looking for somewhere quite and relaxing this is the place to go. The campsite is located right beside the river Shannon about 3km outside Leitrim town.
Weather was good for most of the weekend and we all had a great time. Can’t wait for our next trip.

Ben’s 1st Holy Communion

After weeks of planning, buying clothes, ordering food, finding places for people to sleep, we all had a fabulous day. Ben was preparing for this day for months and really enjoyed himself.
We had lots of family down to celebrate the day with us. The rain held off and we had barbeque outside followed by a night of telling stories and having the craic.
It’s great when the family get together, we should do it more often.
